Tutorial: How to Move a Canvas on Showit

Canvases are the building blocks of your Showit website, and rearranging them lets you control the flow and layout of your site. Whether you’re reorganizing a long page or updating your homepage structure, this guide will show you how to move a canvas up or down in Showit.

Step 1: Open Your Showit Website in the App

1. Go to app.showit.co and open the website you want to edit.
2. In the Site Panel on the left, locate the page where the canvas you want to move is placed.
3. Click the page to expand its list of canvases.

Step 2: Drag and Drop the Canvas

1. Find the canvas you want to move within the list.
2. Click and hold the canvas name.
3. Drag it up or down to the new position in the stack.
4. Release it when it’s in the desired spot.

Showit automatically saves the new order, so there’s no extra "Save" button needed.

Step 3: Preview Your Page

1. After rearranging, click the Preview button (eye icon) in the top-right corner.
2. Scroll through the page to make sure the new order looks and functions as intended.
3. If needed, you can go back and continue rearranging canvases until you're happy with the flow.

Bonus Tip: Moving Shared Canvases

If you’re using Shared Canvases (reusable sections like footers or banners):

• You can’t change the order of shared canvases from the Site Canvases section directly.
• Instead, go to the Page where the shared canvas is placed, then move it within that page’s canvas stack using the same drag-and-drop method.
